Eric Forgiel was born and bred in a suburb of Canada’s capital. His family and friends mean the world to him and are still located there. Canadians have the reputation of being kind, compassionate, hard working individuals and he identifies himself to that a great deal.

Being the smallest guy in school he had no self esteem. Bodybuilding helped him overcome his self consciousness and taught him self motivation. He had no intention on pursuing modeling until the final result of his first shoot and after seeing people’s reaction to it. If he had known this is where his modeling career would take him, he would have gotten more serious about it earlier, but if it ends tomorrow, he also knows that he has accomplished more than he could ever have dreamed of.

Eric’s modeling career story began one day, 4 years ago, as he was training in a local gym, and a local professional photographer happened to walk by. She walked up to him and asked him if he would be interested in posing for her. Admittedly at the stage he was a little skeptical. She offered to meet with him at his home the following weekend to show him her portfolio. After meeting with her, he immediately accepted her offer and a date and time were set for the first shoot. His mother had mentioned that he should get involved in modeling on a few occasions before, but he never took the comment seriously. This chance-meeting was a wakeup call and he jumped at the chance to try his hand at it, in what he describes as - the fine art of modeling.

Eric enjoys the beautiful, motivated and hard working people of the industry. To all those competing in the modeling industry he’s got this to say: “Dress accordingly, put your game hat on, get ready for war and play to win!” He absolutely hates the fact that some companies don’t give models even half a chance.

The irony for him is that he studied to be a photographer and is still very good at it. He sees himself as an artist and believes he sees the world differently than others. Finding work as a photographer though, was a very difficult for him so he decided to choose a profession that would eventually give him the kind of stability he was looking for.

His motto in life is: “Work hard, Play hard.”

His modeling expertise incorporates underwear, swimwear, fitness and artistic nude, but lately he says he’s been doing a lot of semi-nude and underwear modeling. For some reason, photographers want to see him with the least amount of clothing possible. I wonder why?

Of everything he does he prefers to do underwear modeling, and he enjoys seeing the fruits of his labor in a photograph. It is very motivating (and I bet to the people looking at the photo’s as well) and he likes the reaction people have when they see it. His favorite designer is Calvin Klein and he would love to work for Aussie Bum underwear for men.

Every one has their fantasies and to him, his biggest dream is to be a rock star… Being a musician since childhood and still pursuing his dream today, his favorite pass time is to play the drums which he’s been playing since the age of 11 and just can’t get enough of it.

He is currently single and has 2 beautiful children. His son Jeremi is 7 years and his daughter Alexis, is 5. What inspires him is his parents as they are hard working and never give up. They’ve taught him to pursue his dreams from a young age and their words echo in his ears every day.
“If you are not ambitious, things do not come…the harder you work, the luckier you get.”

Uncertainty makes him very nervous as he is a very organized person and likes to plan every move.

As appose to the general view that models are “Beautiful and ignorant” Eric believes that “models don’t get to where they are by being morons”. Eric strives to continue living a full life as if every day is his last and if the opportunity arises he would like to be presented by the appropriate agent, but he is currently independent.

DJ Nick Bertossi | Sweat Under Gear | Big Roger Events

Vancouver BC CANADA June 20th, 2009 - This little

corner of the world of ours has managed to provide some of

the most talented and well respected people on the planet.

Not only is Vancouver one of the most beautiful places to

live, we’ve got talent to spare in the likes of local up and

coming DJ Nick Bertossi, a new men’s underwear line by

Sweat Under Gear and promoter Big Roger’s Events.

You may ask, how does this all work together? Recently I

sat down with DJ Nick Bertossi who just completed a

Sweat Under Gear fashion shoot and talked about him and

his upcoming gig as the opening DJ for Brett Henrichsen

(LA) for the Global Pride Nations Pride Party on Saturday

August 1st at Mint Nightclub (9pm to 3am).

Nick grew up on Vancouver Island in a beautiful historic

town called Ladysmith. Moving to the big little city

(Vancouver) about five years ago he was able to embrace

who he really was and started living his life as a gay man.

His interest in DJing is recent. Four years ago on a foray

into Montreal’s notorious club scene, Nick found himself at

the world renowned Stereo on Ste. Catherine’s street

amidst the gigantic throng of party goers all out to hear

Victor Calderone during the infamous Black & Blue Festival.

“It blew my mind.” Nick tells me, “When I got home [to

Vancouver] I immediately downloaded a little mixing

program and started practicing. It inspired me.”

Fortunately for Nick, who was on a budget at the time, he

had some incredibly generous friends who took him under their wing, bought a

bunch of equipment and setup a dj booth in their loft for him to really practice

on. Through this encouragement and opportunity Nick was able to hone his

skills in a relatively short time as he started spinning at small local happenings

soon after.

Sunil Sinha, co-owner of Big Roger Events (www.bigrogerevents.com), recalls

how Bertossi was their first local DJ to play at their events which started New

Year’s Eve of 2007/08.

“We love Nick.” Sunil states, “It’s our mandate at Big Roger Events to promote

local Vancouver talent. We pair them with big names from out of town to give

them the opportunity to play for bigger crowds.”

Talon Thompson from Sweat Under Gear (www.sweatundergear.com) literally

blushed over the phone when I asked how Nick’s underwear shoot went the

other day. “He was incredible. Very professional and uber hot.” Yes, uber.

Nick’s charm and sex appeal are hard not to notice, what I didn’t expect was

his approachability and hint of back country shyness. I couldn’t help but like

him. He’s got a good heart and a utopian vision of clubs and promoters all

working together.“If we all pooled our resources,” he muses, “then we could create an

incredible experience and everybody would win.”

Bertossi has been spinning quite successfully for the past three years with a

residency with Jesse Creed at 816 (aka the World) and guest spots for local

clubs and events like Celebrities, GMF, Winterpride, NUOVO and GLOBAL

Pride. With Pride weekend looming on the horizon, Nick will be opening for

powerhouse and Masterbeat DJ Brett Henrichsen (LA) for Global Pride’s

NATIONS party. Asked what he though of Brett Henrichsen and the party he

stated, “I’m looking forward to it and Brett is so hot, can’t wait to meet him.”

 

I see puppy love on the horizon, hot sexy puppy love. Their chemistry will be one

for the books and an evening of music not to miss.

Chad Allen auctions of Sweat for charity - results

Chad Allen has been added to our Sweat Wall of fame which just seems to keep growing - we may need more walls to hang all these celeb in Sweat Under Gear pics. Chad raised just under $16,000 so far for the ALC 8 auctions. Over his goal of $15,500.

Man Hunt Regionals - and the winner is

We are happy to announce Jake (in the white Sweat Trunk) won the Mirage Man Hunt regional.
As part of his winnings he will be part of our special Halloween Sweat Under Gear photo shoot.

Jake now progresses to the Man Hunt Nationals this Sunday night. We wish him and all the other regional winners luck as they strut their stuff for the national Man Hunt title.

One little tid bit, Jake did a secret shoot for Sweat Under Gear a couple weeks ago and we will release those photo the end of July. Lets just say he was smoldering hot in the bed with his Sweat...that is all we can say about that shoot for now.
